"Artist in residence" projects in Lincoln (with Jazz Vehicle Big Band) & Derby (Woodlands & Ecclesbourne schools)

Commissioned big band charts for Jazz Vehicle & Kent Youth Jazz Orchestra.

Education director for City of Leeds Fuse Festival 2004, running a series of 50 workshops for secondary & primary schools, encouraging creativity in students with ambitious Theme & Variations project with final concert, also feat. Biggish Band & Jazzcotech Dancers, scheduled March 2004.Additional experience in workshop environment in Senegal, Sri Lanka, South Africa, Venezuela, Canada, Australia, Germany, Denmark.

Experience teaching at various summer jazz courses including: Wavendon, Guildhall, Royal Academy.

Other teaching: Royal Northern College of Music (& acted as external examiner), Birmingham Conservatoire, University of Natal, South Africa (& offered professorship), University of Cape Town South Africa (& offered professorship).

Big Band composition "Revenge of the Amoebae" written for the National Youth Jazz Orchestra used as 1st jazz piece on GCSE syllabus.

Member of Jazz FM Quartet that did about 40 workshops at secondary schools in the Greater London region 2000 & 2001.

Director of Jazz Squad project in Lincoln in 2000, targeting primary & secondary schools & adult community organizations in addition to many local performances to introduce jazz to a wider audience. This 5 day project was an unprecedented success & led to similar projects in Cambridge, Bournemouth & Medway regions.
