May 2008 My new CD In The Zone (Jazzizit) has been released & got some nice reviews. I had 3 gigs at Ronnies with the wonderful tenorist, Eric Alexander, from New York. We also did a gig at Birdland in Hamburg & recorded an album for Jazzizit. The repertoire was well within the Gene Ammons/Sonny Stitt territory & we had a great time. The plan at the moment is to release the recording early next year & hopefully to tour around the UK & Europe in March. I just did another big band recording with the electronic music maestro, Matthew Herbert, & his big band. That should see the light of day in the autumn to coincide with some touring. Meanwhile I'm getting geared up for my collaboration with two Norwegian friends (Frode Nymo-alto & Hakon Myaset-drums) & a Swedish Bassist (Torbjorn Zetterman) for a tour starting at Ronnies 18 June. We're going out as The Northern European Jazz Quartet. These guys are really hot musicians so please check it out if you can. Hope to see you at a gig sometime.
